Turn East on Beverly St.

Team registration between 8:30 and 9:00 am
Opening at 9:00

Sorry I haven't reminded you of this enough.

I have a couple of parents/kids interested in participating in a team - do you have space in your team?

Conversely if you have space and would like to recruit a couple more keeners I'd be happy to share requests here.

Vancouver Island tournament in Duncan on Sat Nov 28th

We have a venue! The Vancouver Island qualifying event is scheduled for Saturday November 28th, 2009, at the Quamichan Middle School in Duncan - thanks to Heather Stannard and Cowichan Valley School District (79). Qualifying teams will be invited to participate in the BC event on Saturday January 9th, 2010 at BCIT.

25 Vancouver Island teams have registered so far for the FLL season! Please remember to register for the tournament as well - so we can plan...

If you are willing to help as a volunteer for the tournament (or to support a team)- please send me an email and tell me what you are willing to do, and I'll try and sort everything out and get things moving. (I only received about 10 emails in response to my last request - but then it was made in August.... )

I'm again looking for a few volunteers to take the lead on the various aspects of our local event - contact me at tpelton@uvic.ca if you are willing. I have a volunteer to organize the judging and one to organize the coaches meetings, it would be great to have a few more to manage the facility setup and cleanup, another to manage registration, and one more to organized volunteers and traffic flow...

FIRST LEGO League 2009

Registration is open for the 2009 Smart Move challenge - please visit fllcanada.org for more information.

The Vancouver Island qualifying event is tentatively scheduled for November 27th, 2009 with qualifying teams being invited to participate in the BC event in January 2010.

We have not yet nailed down a venue, if your organization has one to offer please contact me - I hope to confirm a location by late September.

Getting warmed up for FLL 2008 in Victoria

We hope to have a venue for the fall nailed down in the near future.

If you would be interested in being on the organizing committee for the Vancouver Island tournament (late November) please send me an email.

We need people to take charge of:
Design Evaluation
Tournament Tables
Presentation Evaluation
Teamwork
Technology coordination (video, audio)
Scoring coordination
Venue coordination

We are also looking to build a set of 4 tournament tables (with lights and supports) and a place to store them... any ideas/volunteers?

If you have a team with extra spots for kids, coaches or technical support, or are interested in participating in a team, you may leave your comment here.

Tournament Volunteers needed

If you are interested in participating, but don't have the time to commit to coaching, you might choose to volunteer at the tournament.

Each team is asked to contribute one volunteer for the tournament (Friday from 6-9:00 and Saturday from 8:00-4:00 (it's ok to split this over two people if necessary, but some jobs may require continuity from the evening before).

We also need independent volunteers who are not associated with any team.

Among the volunteers it would be great if there was someone willing to be the MC for the event - if you know of someone who might enjoy that role -please encourage them (or send me an email so that I might encourage them).

Welcome to the 2007 tournament blog

This blog is being set up to coordinate and update teams and volunteers for the tournament this fall.

I will leave this blog public for now, and will invite interested parties to participate in the blog as I become aware of them.

The tournament is scheduled for 9:00-3:00 on Saturday November 24th 2007 at St. Margaret's school.
